Chalisée Naamani (1995, France) ’s works are the result of a process that combines photographic prints with polymateric assemblages in soft, irregular shapes, which in space draw gateways to rebuses and emotional tangles. Naamani creates « vêtements-images » (“image dresses”), sculptural objects that practically act like paintings, asking to be looked at rather than to be worn. All the images that are point of departure of her creations are sourced, mixed, collaged, and printed on diverse fabrics, being a perfect echo both to the act of scrolling and to the ultra-Baroque aesthetics of Instagram. In her research painting, sculpture, popular culture, fashion and technology intersect, becoming a fertile ground for cultural intertwining and linguistic exchange.
